Description
Burnet Hooded Windmillgrass is a native, warm season perennial bunchgrass growing 1-3’ at maturity. It is well adapted for use in the Edwards Plateau, Llano Uplift, Rolling Plains, Cross Timbers, and Blackland Prairies of Central and North Texas. Hooded Windmillgrass is commonly found on sand or loam soils. It is fair livestock forage and provides good cover and seed production for wildlife. Best uses are for rangeland restoration and as a fast cover grass for energy and transportation rights-of-ways.
